Materials of Cell Culture Consumables


It is advisable to use cell culture products made of Polystyrene, which have good optical properties and are surface treated. Radiation is applied to maintainsterile conditions as required.


Sterile, Enzyme-free, Endotoxin-free


All cell culture products need to be irradiated for sterilization, to achieve SAL 10-6 sterilization level, ensuring all products are free from DNA enzymes /RNA enzymes. Pyrogens and endotoxins are thermally stable mixtures that have severe adverse effects on cell proliferation and growth. To avoid the impact of endotoxins on cells, all products need to be tested to ensure they are free from endotoxins and pyrogens.

Treated Surface


Conventional surface treatments for adherent cell culture include TC treatment, enhanced adherent surface treatment, and biologicalcoating surfaces. TC treatment is the standard surface for culturing adherent cells. Specific physical surface treatments result in the binding of polar groups such as carboxyl and hydroxyl residues, which polarize the hydrophobic polystyrene surface, thereby improving and homogenizing cell attachment. Some surfaces are based on polymer modification to create highly hydrophilic surfaces, which positively influence the characteristics and functions of cells. Biologically coated surfaces are coated with biological or synthetic extracellular matrix proteins (Type I collagen, fibronectin, laminin) or synthetic proteins (Poly-D-lysine, Poly-L-lysine), which promote cell growth.


Untreated Surface


Untreated Polystyrene surfaces are hydrophobic and are suitable for the proliferation and growth of suspension cells that do not require adherence.
